How you fill it in six awareness steps:
People are as happy as they make their minds up to be – Abraham Lincoln
Was in the middle of my morning routine: rolling out of bed slipping more clothes on as the puppy whines for his potty run; I walk by the Keurig press the ON button to ready my first cup. Good Morning I mutter to myself. It’s way too early must train the dog to hold it longer..
Morning Winter wind reminds me it’s time to pack my bags for our southern stay. Being old and having earned several streams of a steady income gives you options. Wish all my friends had the same.
As I mark my time in what has become a recent morning routine, 7 minutes have expired. Amazing when you take a moment in reflective awareness, that seven minutes is now in my past never to be altered, impacted or improved again.
Now I understand.. It is what I made it to be! Wow, imagine when you add all those minutes into the hours in a day, days a week, year, etc.. Before you know it, a whole life will be measured on how you spent your time; because we all know, it is limited and becomes a surprise you when you experience the last moment.
Been my personal experience that whatever you decide to do in the moments of your day, all have its beginnings in your mind. Yea, you’ve heard this before I’m certain. Here is the rub, why then are you complaining about the outcome? Do you have any control of what and how you spend your time?
Could the root of your angst come from all the things that is happening in 2023? Could it be that unexpected bad news of the death of someone you knew, maybe even personally?
No matter what anyone says or does; it all can be difficult to be productive in all your thoughts because of all that we, especially now, have been exposed to in so many facets of what is shared with us; lately via the news and other digitally supported information. I get it, no exclusivity here.
Here is what is working for me and many others who through consistent practice found a zen like approach to health wealth and new found happiness:
- Take inventory. Start as often as necessary to list (on paper or digitally for quick reference) those things that are most important, blessed to have and make you laugh. Praise in gratitude daily!
- Give it proper attention. Giving attention to each grows them in fostering their power to combat challenges in the present shaping the future. Understand any thought is managed this way, aware or not.
- Increase your awareness. How you feel is the direct result of how much time and emotional energy or ‘life’ you give in to that thought .
- Forgive those that have wronged you in the past; whether alive or dead les their spirit will find a way to dwell in your heart.
- Listen with patience. Display patience especially during the times right before you lose it emotionally. Anger is mostly rooted in an emotional fed ‘pressure cooked thought session’ looking for a moment to release. We all have those. Develop personal discipline to face the thing before it explodes.
- Face the possibilities. The sooner you begin the better chances you will have to create the life that has escaped you. Life treasures are found on the active journey of failures. Go fail more!
Happier days will come but only if you increase your creative awareness through giving the proper attention to how you spend your thought time – you will see, creation begins when you visualize it clearly in thought, constantly and consistently followed by action and belief.
I believe in you!
